Where the Unseen Takes Form
A courageous approach to an invisible reality, giving it a visible outline.
Ruth’s work explores the space between what is seen and what is sensed. Beginning with an impression, emotion, encounter, or idea, she allows each painting to unfold through a dialogue between intuition and intentional composition.
Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, she builds layers of color, line, texture, and movement, allowing elements to emerge, disappear, and be rediscovered. Rather than beginning with a predetermined outcome, Ruth approaches the canvas with curiosity, responding to the work as it develops.
The result is an invitation to look beyond the immediately visible and encounter something that may be felt before it can be fully explained.

About
For Ruth Truttmann, painting is a process of discovery: a way of giving form to something that cannot always be put into words. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, she builds her paintings through layers of color, line, texture, intuition, and response. Her creative process moves between intentional composition and the freedom to follow what emerges, drawing inspiration from the world around her, her inner life, and her spirituality. She describes this ongoing exploration simply as “Outlining the Invisible.”
